This is my first year muzzleloading and I'm looking for some advice on loads. I shoot a CVA hunterbolt and cant get groups less than about 4 inches at 50 yards. Im shooting 120grains of triple 7 and TC xtp bullets. Any advice you guys have for me would be great. Thanks in advance.

Your groups will probably tighten up by cutting back to about 90 grains 777. And the deer won't care.

If this is a new gun- make sure everything is assembled tight. I'm not sure how the CVA is attached to the stock but bullets will walk all over if the anchor screww is loose on my Knight.

good advice from shovelbuck and pharmer. i bet to your groups will tighten with less powder. don't be afraid to spend some money on different brands and wieghts of bullets. you may find one that your gun really likes. it doesn't take a huge piece of lead to bring down a deer, so my advice is to keep it around 200 grains. SHOT PLACEMENT IS EVERYTHING..........
