Stillhunter, a true texas heart shot does not hit any meat. (providing you hit that 3-4 inch hole in the pevic bone) I just think shooting a deer up the anus, is a poor shot selection. But when a deer flushes it is usually the only target, and some people chose to take it and swear it is a good percentage shot. It happens I disagree and I pass on it, even though I know it would do major damage. I might be narrow minded, but every time I hear the term Texas Heart shot I cringe.
That is why I told Rudy he is entitled to his opinion and I am entitled to mine, but on this one we'll have to disagree. He might be right, he is not the only person to practice this technique.
