MY B-Day Turkey

Blaster

PMA Member
I took the day off to go on a B-Day hunt, and it paid off. Started the morning out with finding someone hunting in the spot i wanted. So i went to a area that Liv showed me. I have only seen this area from the road, but it looked good. I walked back about 1/4 mile and finally heard my first gobble. It was a long way away! So i decided to move back into the heart of the vally. Next thing in know there are 4 to 5 turkey gobbling on the other side of the creek valley. so i sat down and started to call. After about 45 min and alot of responce gobbling,I thougt these birds are never going to cross this valley. So i hit the box call one more time and sat there thinking of were to go next. All of a sudden i head a gobble from behind me in a bean field. And it was close. I got up and moved 20yards the the eadge of the field. I barrly got my knee on the ground and this tom gobbled and started running right to me! 20yard shot and a nice b-day bird.

Great job. My first turkey ever was on my 15th b-day. Might have to buy tag #2 and go out on Friday to see if I can get career b-day bird #2. Happy b-day and nice bird. Way to go.

Congrats Blaster! A few years ago I did the same thing on my own birthday!

Happy Birthday and congrats again!

That has to be the first turkey I've seen in a bed of hostas!
