My Iowa 200 class shot on Nov 3rd.

I was blessed enough to harvest a giant Iowa buck on my AM bow hunt on November 3rd. This buck was unofficially scored by my Taxidermist at 209 gross non-typical. I'm just kind of wondering where this Buck ranks among whitetails shot year in and year out here in Iowa. I know we have a lot of deer of this caliber but how often are these taken? Do you think I have a shot at making any magazines or getting possible sponsors to help me out with taking this buck around to other sporting shows around the nation? I'm curious to see what people think.

Congratulations on a fantastic buck!! ..... I know it seems like there are a lot of BIG deer killed in Iowa, but very few guys ever manage to harvest a 200"+ class buck with a bow. There are considerably more deer of this caliber killed on deer drives with shotguns. Congratulations on doing it the hard way... a lot more personal satifaction.

As far as deer shows, etc. I have no idea on that question.... good luck in that qwest....

Congrats on a great buck!
On the other note, your buck pry isnt in the top 20 for deer taken with a bow if I was to guess...between 2004 and 2005 there are 6 taken bigger than yours.
 
Wow! Great deer! Congrats! Couldn't tell ya much about the ranks and shows and such, but I do know that would probably be the last thing on my mind if I shot that bad boy. GREAT deer!
 
That is a great buck...congrats on the harvest.

No offense, but you should be more worried about being proud of that buck than sponsors and sport shows.

Ohhh don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of this buck! It's literally been like a dream for the last week. This is what deer hunting is all about. I really appreciate all of your comments. I'm just not real familiar with what a buck of this caliber brings with it. Most likely nothing besides the pure satisfaction of shooting an Iowa giant, and yes that's plenty for me!

I have never had the pleasure of harvesting one of that caliber. Congratulations! I know a few guys who have, they got bragging rights and a un-erasable smile for months to come. Then a trophy to hang on the wall and tell war stories about for the rest of their life. I'm just guessing, but I would think that you would get the sponsors and shows if it was State-record/ world record class deer?

It is an opportunity of a lifetime that you were able to harvest a 200" class animal. I am very happy for you that you were fortunate enough to do so, but I doubt it is going to make anyone famous.... You will be the guy who killed that incredible buck in 2007

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all of your comments! Well, I don't want to get into to many details because I'm guessing that some of you might be reading an article on my buck sooner or later. I'll let you know as soon as everything is confirmed. It was a great AM hunt on November 3rd and plenty of deer made their way by my stand and the giant coming through chasing a doe 15 mins before I planned on getting out to watch the Iowa game.
