Well, let's just say it has had nothing to do with hunting. Around Christmas time last year we had a gal knock on our door and ask if we were still selling our house (we had it on the market but took it off in summer of 2013). We were certainly still interested in selling and one thing led to another and here we are now, homeless....yay! We went from living in a giant american four square on less than 1/4 of an acre in Gladbrook. Corner lot with both roads within 40' of the house. The neighbor's house to the West was about 8' away. For a guy like myself and a wife that both grew up in the country, it was just not cutting it for us. We've been there since early 2008 and began trying to sell it sometime in 2011 or so. Tough market, everybody was interested but no buyers. And Gladbrook doesn't have a real strong pull. So fast forward a few months and we set a closing date for July 31 and moved out August 1. I was really hoping the closing date would have been earlier but it is what it is. August 14 we began digging a hole in the ground for our new house and we are now about 3-4 weeks away from moving in. I'm doing a bunch of work myself to cut costs, so you can imagine how much it's killing me to not be in the stand. I just may be able to catch the tail end of the rut though...fingers crossed. In the end, it's just one season and I'm not really missing out on too much, the view is fantastic and I get to watch deer almost nightly while I'm working.

Modular house is set and garage work was started last week:
Somewhat of a view to the North. This was a family picture before work started.
I'll try to get some more pics up as we move along. To say I'm excited to live out in the country again is a major understatement! And to be living in this particular location is incredible. Nightly deer watching, easy access to fishing, watching storms roll in, I'll have a 500+ yard shooting range off my back deck and the closest neighbor is about 1/4 mile away!
