Haha.. my best friend and I used to do that all the time with our little bows and dodge the arrows when we were probably 10. Used to shoot them up in the air back and forth to each other across a small field also... probably not the smartest thing we ever did

A friend and I used to do that too. Used to amaze us how far the wind would push the arrows. One time it came down about 5 feet away from the neighbor lady, she was not as amazed as we were! ;)

Ha, my brother did that one time when we were kids. All the adults scrambled and the arrow came down on the top of my dads brand new pickup. Wasn't too impressed.

That reminds me of those metal lawn darts my cousin & I used to play with until...we were playing at night & one dart came down the side of his face & cut him open pretty good. That was the last time I saw those darts...mom got rid of them.

Us too, except with our first hunting bows and flu flu arrows, and maybe a normal arrow a couple times..... scarey stuff when you lose sight of it, running with your arms over your head.

My buddy did that once. He shot an arrow straight up in the air and we lost sight of it. I took off running one way and the arrow came down right over my shoulder. crazy stupid. I dont know why I didnt dive under the picnic table.

With all these stories of things they did in their youth maybe Bonker you are in your second childhood?

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience in my youth. Lucky at times to have survived my own stupidity and my father.

We had those lawn darts but like someone else said, too many close calls meant that mom put them in the trash. We made our own!

Took the tail feathers from pheasants. Duct-taped a big nail to the shaft. Throw. When dad wasn't looking we would sharpen them on the grinder. We could easily stick them in trees and managed somehow not to impale ourselves.

Hard for moms to protect kids from themselves!

I used to do that too but we put rubber blunts on the tips and tried to see who could catch one. I never caught any but my buddy did, black and blue forearm to go along with it.....

Bummer...I opened this thread hoping to see a picture of a running cat at close range :D

Sorry to disappoint. I can't find that pic. I think it was lost either a couple of computers ago or a couple of IW updates ago.

This is as close as I can get:

I did some hard time in the penalty box for this pic. Yeah, it was worth it.
