Next year will be there year that I'll shot my first turkey. Here is my story..................
Saturday morning we had a vewry good setup. I thought that was the day that I'll shot my first. 600 came around and out of nowhere was a monster tom! He was crossing a road when a car came, so i thought that was the end of him, but i was wrong. He came over and w/ one little srcech in the call. BOOM!! he was gone. I think he was to fast for me even to c him go!! So after a while a person desides to fence near were we were hunting so he walked slowy up in the hill and there was a crap load of turkeys. 7 tom (all faned out) and about 3 hens. WOW what a site!! I really didnt care that i didnt get to shot at a turkey that day but it was really neat to see the faned out tho.
Sunday was a differnt story........
We where walking up in a feild and we kicked up three deer. The out of the blue TWO MONSTER TOMS come running out. Remember this was late int he afternoon, so what the hick im going to shot becuz it will most likey be the last time to shot this season. Soon as i thought that my heart was racing i counldt even think rite. so the biggest turkey was about to go up to heaven. BOOM!! The shot echoed in the distans anfd the gun shot low so I hit him in the wings and in the legs. MAN!! I wish i could take that shot back becuz after that 4 other toms ran out along w/ 3 hens.
So thats my youth season, but dont worry about me Ill get him next year!!!
