Nebraska Deer Hunters Set Records in 2010
Nebraska killed a record number of deer in 2010.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says hunters brought in more than 88,000 deer, which includes more than 77,000 whitetails.
Nearly 38,000 whitetail bucks and nearly 39,200 antlerless whitetails were killed — both records. It was the first time the number of antlerless whitetails taken exceeded the number of whitetail bucks killed.
The commission says deer hunter success rates were 68 percent for firearm, 40 for archery and 37 for muzzleloader.
A record 166 elk were killed.
