Need Help Hunting Missouri

I am thinking about going to Missouri this year to hunt during there firearm season. I won a 243 this year and can't legally shoot it in Iowa. I was wandering where if any is a good public hunting spot. Mineral ??? in Putnam County??? Would this be a good spot. I have a lake lot on Lake Thunderhead and this would be close at least. If you could give me some help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Dont know anything about the Mineral Hills area, but have hunted Rebels Cove on the eastern end of Putnam County. Hunting pressure is fairly high opening weekend but tapers off to nothing during the week. There are several 150-160 inch deer taken from there every year. If you are not afraid to walk, the Chariton river bottom on the Putnam county side is tops. If you have some time to knock on doors dont rule out private property. Many of the more open areas are underhunted. Everyone seems to want to be in the timber.
