Need Opinions about a Double Bull

If you could get a Double Bull BS5 blind in the Deception Green or in the Brown, which one would you buy? I know I said in the past that I didn't think they were worth what they cost and I still don't but, I have to buy one in either color dirt cheap so I'm doing it. I'll use it both fall and spring if it helps in the answer.

Somebody got a gun to your head, Rack?

If it were me, I think I'd go with the brown. There's always brown in the landscape, no matter what time of year it is.

Hey Rack,

Definetly go with the brown...the green was offered primarily in response to Turkey hunters who wanted to better match the Spring foliage fearing the "not-colorblind" vision of turkeys.

That being said, I've had over 30 gobblers shot in the last 3 years from my Deception Brown Double Bull, between myself and those I have guided. They simply don't pay any attention to it, no matter what color it is!

Deer, on the other hand DO notice it unless you brush it in really well AND use the netting on the windows. The "black hole" effect flat out scares the hell outta them!

Once you use one, you'll forget the cost...they're that damn good, and you only buy the best ONCE!

Hey Rack I agree o with the brown, but if I were you I wouldn't shoot that 357 through it

Don't think those holes would be easy to hide

. Good luck this season!!!!

depends on how long the leaves stay green in your neck of the woods. where i'm at brown is best but down in Misery you may get away with the green through most of the fall season. also depend if you want to take it to other states and hunt as well. all around, i say brown.

Hey Addict I just got a T2 on Ebay for 175.00,just like new.I think it's going to be great. I do think a guy will have to learn how to shoot out of it,it seems like it is a little short, and the window
seems like it could be taller. When you stand up to shoot a bow all you can do is be hunch backed---maybe better off shooting setting down? Even the bigger ones are only 3" taller. Can't wait to try it out have 3 places in mind allready. Maybe someone can say how they are to shoot out of with a bow?

I shoot out of mine sitting down or kneeling. I don't know about anyone else or if that is the best way but that's what works best for me.

I shoot my 64" recurve out of mine (recurve model) sitting on one of the Double bull folding chairs. No problem- works fine, and the chair fits nicely in the bag as well.

I highly recommend one of the bowholders though, much better than laying your bow down or leaning up against the blind.

Are you planning to hunt those armored possums from a Double Bull Blind.

Only if one pops up in the blind with me! I bet the blind would be a total loss if that happened.

Thanks for the opinions on the blind guys. I'll go with the brown.

Hey, what are you talking about, Rack? We didn't mention anything about Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder!

Kind of suprises me that everyone went with the brown. I prefer the green myself, though either will do the job.

I prefer the Brown myself and they are awesome to shoot out of. Get the Double bull chairs to go with it, perfect to shoot a bow out of.

I have a T2, used it for years. It was offered only in brown at the time. Have used it both to harvest turkeys and deer. During the green spring, the brown blind has done nothing but work.... and work well! The last two birds I harvested were shot at less than 7 yards, with the blind setting in a green hay field. DB uses a great camo pattern, which I think does more for the function of the blind than the color. I would still opt for purchasing a blind that is brown in color. Brown always exists in nature, no matter what the season. Green is obviously a largely seasonal color. If you are going to use it for both spring and fall hunting, my vote goes for being a brown camo blob rather a green one.

I bought the Import Dbl Bull IP% I believe. I have had it out for 4 weeks now, holding up pretty well, but all of the windows have turned a orange color. It looks pretty bad. Has anyone else came across this problem? I guess I'll have to replace the screens every season huh?

The T5 has not done that through one season but it is not let out beyond the hunt ever. I may have to replace the sceens, but it will be becuase of holes.

You may as well start shooting through them to practice if they're going to get replaced.

Wow, I have used mine a lot during turkey seasons. I have only left it out over night once though. My windows are still like new. Don't know if it is any type of buildup that you could wash off.
