Need some help finding....

...a particular type of hat (technically a baseball-style cap, I guess) that Columbia Sportwear Co. made a year or two ago.

I think the model of the cap was called either "Silent Shadow" or "Silent Rain" or something along those lines.

The hat was solid blaze orange in color with an embroidered elk antler on the front and below the antler it says "Columbia Hunting."

Our local Scheels store had some of these until just recently, and now that I'm trying to find one, I can't seem to (on the internet or anywhere else).

Has anyone seen one of these hats around at a local store in your area or on a website? Any leads on where to find one would be appreciated.

How much will you pay for one...

I have one and will check where I bought it for you. It was a couple of years ago but I think they still have em.

Thanks, Limb.

I haven't found any better-fitting hats than these from Columbia. Need to find an orange one to be legal during rifle season next year. I currently have two in camo that I use for turkey hunting and they will be on my head during bow season next year.

Let me know what ya find out about the orange ones. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra since they don't seem to have them around here anymore. Wish I'd have bought one this summer when they were still around an Scheels. Hindsight.

Here's a link to what they look like. This one is the camo version that I already have, but they also make it in orange:

Almost, but not quite. The one I'm looking for doesn't have ear flaps and is solid blaze orange rather than orange camo. You're on the right track, though. Thanks!

That sure looks like it. The ones I had seen had the antler embroidered in a brown thread, but I'm not picky about that. Actually, I like the black embroidery better. If you hat is the kind without the ear flaps, then I'd say it's probably what I'm looking for.

I've got a rather large head and have trouble finding camo hats that fit. Is this a cap that fits us "bigheads"?? Thanks..

I hear ya there, legbone. One size DOES NOT fit all!

I wear about a 7 5/8" fitted cap size, which makes it tough to find hunting hats that fit good. Fortunately, Columbia was thinking of us when they made these hats. I think you'll find that these Silent Rain caps from Columbia will do pretty well for you. Waterproof, breathable, and comfortable. Give one a try sometime.

I would also suggest you check out the iowawhitetail camo hats they fit great!

Well, so far my search for one of these Columbia Silent Rain caps in blaze orange has turned up with zilch. I decided to contact the company today, and they said that they don't make them anymore nor do they have any remaining in stock. They referred me to check eBay! Good lord. Oh well.

If anyone here has one of these caps that they aren't using, let me know. I'll pay more than the new price for it. It has an elk antler embroidered on the front, and below the antler are the words "Columbia Hunting."

Awesome, guys! Thanks so much. I just put in an order for two, so hopefully they still have some. Figured I'd better get them before they're gone for good.

These are the best-fitting hats I've ever found, and I wear them for every kind of hunting, so it'll be nice to have them in blaze for rifle deer season and pheasant hunting.

Matt

P.S. Sorry for the delayed response. Just got back from a three-day fall turkey hunting trip to central Nebraska.

Just wanted to give you a big "THANK YOU." I ordered two of the blaze caps from Shyda's and they arrived today. They are EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for posting that link. Can't tell you how relieved I am to have finally found a source where I could get these. After months of searching the next, contacting Columbia, etc., I had about given up. Apparently they are not making these caps any more, so when the existing stocks are gone, they're gone.

To anyone else looking to get one of these great caps, my only advice is "order soon." Waterproof and breathable with Omni-Tech fabric. Great, comfortable caps for guys who have trouble finding a cap that fits well!
