Need some new boots

After five years with my current pair I need some new boots. I basically ripped the whole bottom off my hiking/hunting boots after working in them all summer. What are your suggestions for a good all-purpose boot? I have a pair of muck woody max rubber boots so I don't need anything for cold weather. I am looking for something for summer scouting, squirrel hunting, checking cameras, shed hunting and stuff like that. Basically a good uninsulated all around boot that is fairly waterproof. I would prefer not to spend much more than $100 as the pair that lasted me the last five years was a $20 BassPro special.
Thanks!

I like Danners but you would need to spend more $ than you are wanting to spend. But if you got 5 years out of a $20 pair of boots from BPS and liked them...why switch to anything else??

I also saw an ad on the Outdoor Channel for Muck Woody Max boots for $89.99 at BPS. That's a solid $30 cheaper than I bought mine. Just sayin...

Cables sells the speed hunter boot.
It's waterproof with gortex. Goes for about $100-125.
I've got several pairs. It's a good all around boot.

If I were you, I'd up your budget a little more.. $150 (or so) would give you much more variety and quality to choose from. Sure you can get a good or decent pair for <$100 but your already canceling your chances at owning a great boot. Boots aren't anything to cut corners with Imho

True. So if I were to bump it up to $150 what should I look at? Are uninsulated danner pronghorns a good boot? I can get them for $112 after using a giftcard.

I have a pair of insulated Pronghorns that are from when they first came out. I haven't looked into another pair since 2004, but that's because I realized after I bought them that they can't be rebuilt since they are not stitch down construction. Overall, they were very comfortable and very warm. Eventually, like boots will do, the Gore-tex bootie gave out and now my feet get wet and cold in them. Since they are not rebuildable, I can't ship them back to Danner and get a new Gore-tex bootie put in. They just take up space in my garage now. I absolutely love Danner boots, but only the ones that can be sent back to be rebuilt. I think if you shop around, you can find other Danner boots for around $150 that can be rebuilt. Look for that "650 Last", "850 last" or "stitchdown contsruction" in general if you want a pair that can be rebuilt for cheaper than a new pair of boots. I've sent a pair of $200 hiking boots back to Danner to be resoled and restitched. For $75, it was like getting a brand new pair of boots when they returned. If your intention is to just get another new pair when they wear out, then I think the Pronghorns are a good boot, especially for that price.
