Nephew's First Deer

My brother, his boy and I were blocking on a drive. We were standing in a tree line and I spotted this deer running along the tree line coming straight to us. My nephew is 12 and this was his first year of hunting and his first deer.

He shot it through the eyes. In one socket and out the other. The deer dropped immediately. Folded like he had 3 8 off suit. Wanted to share the picture. He shot it at about 15 feet and ALL the meat was good by the way.

I believe your nephew has earned a new nickname - "deadeye". That will certainly be one to remember. Congrats to your nephew.

It was a fun moment. He had to come and hunt by his uncle because his dad couldn't get him a deer. This deer dropped faster than any that I have ever seen before. It basically just curled up in a ball mid-stride and fell. I told my nephew that when they are only 15 feet away, you don't need to lead them very much.
 
Damn I figured that pic would draw more fire than the trailer load of bucks did.
