New Bow

Ok, I have been wondering, what kind of a bow I should get? I have looked out in Bass Pro but I can't quite make my choice on what I want. I would like something that is going to be well worth my money.

Schrier, I switched from Mathews after many years of using them to a ROSS and I couldn't be happier. They are very well made bows and you can get some super deals on them. They have been out only two years now and in some areas are a bit hard to find. I bought the CR334 and paid $595.00 out the door price. They list for somewhere around $675.00 to $695.00. They come with Winners Choice strings and cables which was a huge plus and have a fantastic grip. Super balance point with no recoil and almost no handshock and a super smooth draw cycle. They back wall on the draw isn't as solid as the Mathews but I anchor my thumb behind my neck and have no problems with any creep before the shot. I did put a homemade STS type string suppressor on it and what I felt in the string before was totally illiminated. I really liked my Mathews and my only complaint about it was a poor quality string they come with and those stupid string dampners were always getting eat up. Since I bought the Ross I have been trouble free. If you want a superior quality bow then it would be worth your time to try one before you buy.

This year I went from a long time Hoyt shooter to a Bowtech Allegience. Love the bow but it is pricey. Rack is right Ross is a great company along with a few others that do not get the press: Parker, Champion and Alpine. Great bows for less ching.

Best value for the money is a top-end bow that is about 1-2 years old. Let the first guy take the depreciation hit and you get to enjoy all of the benefits at about 60% of the new price. Check out the classifieds on ArcheryTalk.com.

Seriously, all the top manufacturers build a great bow. Find one that fits and feels good for you and shoot.

I think I will be trying out many bows this summer. I want to get one that will fit me well. I will probably get one out of bass pro or something like that.
