New coyote setup

6x6

I am still trying to kill this pack of large coyotes on my farm. With the crunchy snow, the timber spot from 2 weeks ago was not working. Kinda spooky sitting in the dark timber, even under a full moon, hearing footsteps all around, but not seeing anything. A friend of mine had some ribcages and boned out carcasses behind his barn he let me take to put in a clover/corn clearing, 240 yards from my house, with a creek on one side and 200 acres of steep cedar and oak deer sanctuary on the other. This female bobcat and her male kitten are on it all day, but the pack does not show up untill the middle of the night.

The female bobcat usually rules the carcass, but the pack had enough, and went after her.

I was kinda surprised she was still alive after that, and showed back up. This morning was the first time the big coyotes have been out during daylight. Too bad I did not look out the window at the right time. I will be watching in the morning.

Awesome pic's.. Makes me mad now that I didn't put a cam over at least one of the two dead deer I found this year. Good luck thinning that pack..

We are seeing the same problems in our parts - next year we're going after the coytoes full bore with traps. Have you thought about setting foottraps Joe? Or you might have some good snare lines if you've got some good fence crossings they use.
