Hey all, I like it when locals post about what they're seeing in the woods.
The past few weeks of turkey hunting I've been watching a buck grow some great velvet covered bone. I first saw him in early April, with no noticable growth. By the third week of April he had good bases going. As of yesterday A.M. he's got about 6 inches of new antler with a fork on each side. I'm guessing it's the beginning of his browtines. They're about 2 inches long right now. The other side of the fork is starting to grow "out" over his ears. Maybe he'll be a big one...maybe not! Anyhow, it looks like it's time to get the trail-cam out.
Anybody else seeing anything good?
