Smaller Buck, but kind of a neat picture.

Looks like he's got a real good start on things. That bag o' bones in the foreground needs a dirt nap.

Pretty funny, but I'd have to agree, lol. I also agree that buck might turn out pretty nice, thats fair growth for this early.

Those bases look promising, good mass there. I saw a buck last Saturday that had antlers out about ear length and two nicely formed upright points already. He was with a smaller buck that I didn't get as good a look at. The points were about 4"-6" already and his bases looked pretty stout too.

From the looks of that picture I too don't think that will be a "smaller buck".

Wait until you see that same deer in a picture at the beginning of August, should be a giant.

I would say you are looking at velvet bases that would measure close to 4.5 to 5 inches right now.

I think this is the same buck an hour later, I believe he is only a 2.5 year old buck, just by looking at the small frame of his body.

I would agree that your picture above is a young buck.

But, look at the diameter of the eye's compared to the antler bases in both pictures.

Same deer?

You're right Ghost, I thought I had my trail camera on double picture mode, and I thought (without looking at the timestamp) that this was the 2nd picture in this set. But right before I posted the last reply I noticed it was an hour later.

That second picture is a different buck than the first. That 1st buck is going to be a good buck. I'm guessing heavy and a nine pointer.
