New Lone Wolf....missing parts!!!!

I bought a Lone Wolf Alpha today from the Cabelas in Rogers, MN and got home tonight all excited to pull it out and goof around with it. Not too much goofing when I noticed some parts missing. I'm missing the strap with the hook that the stand hangs on as well as the backpack straps!!! Isn't the strap with the hook on it the best part?? The packaging in the box only had directions on how to put on the harness, but nothing on how to hang the stand. I then opened the box of climbing sticks and the directions for hanging the stand were in there! What the heck!! Has anybody had a problem like this?

I called the Cabelas and talked to a guy in the Archery department. His only thoughts were to bring it back in and exchange it. Great. Now I get to drive an hour back down there and fight the outrageous crowds again! I've never seen crowds like that EVER in a Cabelas, and the customer service today in the archery department was by far the worst I've ever seen at one of their stores. Granted it is a new store, but the employees really didn't know their head from their you know what and acted like I was bothering them when I asked them questions! Guess I should have asked a few more and maybe I wouldn't be driving back there tomorrow!!

Sorry, I just needed to vent. Seriously, has anyone had this problem with missing parts?

I think mine was packed the same Ryan. IMO, you probably ought to get a different harness than the one included.....JMO

Sorry to hear about that bud, that's why I always open up whatever I'm buying to make sure it's all there. Regardless of what happened at the store you still have a TOP NOTCH stand that you will be happy with from day one. Good luck in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks guys. I've monkeyed with it on a tree in the yard tonight and it works great, it just ticks me off that I have to go back there. It works without the hang on hook, but I'm sure that makes life a lot easier.

I did open it up in the store, but since I've never seen one of these before I guess I didn't know what to look for. It didn't help matters that I had tweedle dee and tweedle dumb Cabelas workers standing there not helping.

I've got the stand with the climbing sticks and my fanny pack all loaded onto my frame pack and ready to go in the morning. Can't wait to try it all out for real! After the hunt if I don't stick something I'm heading back to return the stand.

The temps here in MN are supposed to be in the upper 30s tonight with some a snow/rain mix. Hopefully they'll be up and moving!!

One of my sets of sticks was missing a strap. I didnt mess with Cabelas and just called Lone Wolf, they mailed one right out, no problem. While you have them on the phone I would suggest picking up a couple strap extensions for the sticks. They are life savers.

I guess I've never used the hook to hang my LoneWolf at all. I like the V bracket and 2 straps on each of the versabuttons. No, it doesn't set up as quickly but it's much more stable in the tree. A couple people I know just use the hook and they say that even though it's pretty sturdy there are a few times when the old gal will try to buck you outta the tree in the morning when you step over off your treestep/stick. Good luck, let us know how the first few expeditions into the timber go!

I alway use two straps on the buttons as well and they are very easy and fast. I really don't see the advantage of the hook, but I honestly have never tried it because I have zero issues getting it up fast ands quiet on the buttons. I would never hunt out of this stand with just one strap on it.

I just ordered a Lone Wolf from Cabela's. Should be here today when I get home. Hopefully no missing parts!

I find an advantage in the hook. Short arms like me it is easier to hang it on the hook and then reach the other 2 straps around to put on the versa button. I am probably the only one who uses the v-bracket and both versa button straps. Let me tell you it is SECURE.
