New Millenium/LOne Wolf Conversion

Here is what I feel are improvements to the New Millenium stand. My girlfriend likes this stand, so if I am going to hang it, I wanted to make it simpler for me. We all have different tastes, and I personally do not like the receiver and the hanging method the Millenium uses. I made it hang like a Lone Wolf, and permanently attached the receiver to the stand. I used 12.9 grade bolts. It is easy to use now, and is more solid and secure then the factory setup was. I also went and camoed it as I didn't like the view of the black bottom of the seat. I have to paint the washers black once it warms up. The stand seems quieter now too.

You need to go into Outdoor gear design in the winter months Don.

The Mcgyver of the outdoor world!!!

Lol..yea, another guy on AT has been after me to post pics of this setup, so I took some pics yesterday so he could see the setup. For those that don't know, this is a millenium and it comes with this chain and a receiver. You are supposed to mount the receiver to the tree and then slide the stand into the receiver. I prefer the Lone Wolf setup.

That stand makes you sit too far out away from the tree. Turns you into a big silhouette. Much better to have your outline broken up by the tree.

Man. I would fall asleep in a stand like that!
Yea, these are the most comfortable hang on probably on the market. I bought the optional full length seat pad and it is really comfortable. This is a great all day stand and it also helps keep you warm. I like it in Canada on 6 hr bear hunts where all of the trees are straight, and a where needing a self leveling stand, like the Lone Wolf offers, is not an issue. I've arrowed a lot of game out of it. I bought it at the IA Deer Classic 5 or 6 years ago. I finally modified it this fall with the Lone Wolf style hookup. I camoed it the 2nd year I had it.The camo is HS Strut Realtree Hardwoods 3D leafy blind material that is sold anywhere. These stands have quite a following.
