new Primos Predator Den

Here is the new Primos Predator Den blind that I just got from Cabela's. I know it's not a DB but it also was only about 1/3 the price. Hopefully my twins and I can get some enjoyment out of it this fall trying to put down some early Oct. does. Initially, other than lower windows being a little small and low, I can shoot out of it pretty comfortably.

Couple questions:

1) I am not planning on leaving it out at locations much. I plan to take it into spots to prep the locations in Sept. as far as placement, trimmings, etc. but not leave out in the elements too long. Will the deer be overly cautious because of this strategy or is "leafing in" just the mandatory offset.

2) Black rather than camo for apparel ??

From what I have heard if you plan on deer hunting out of that you will need to put some sort of camo mesh over the black holes. Deer do not like that action.

Enough brush setting against it may make those dark holes fade a bit though, sounds like fun, good luck!!

Iowa's number one resource for the whitetail deer.

I know a couple guys that lay the smack down each year out of ground blinds and the black holes don't seem to affect them.

I'd say each reaction will be different.

Matt (the twin boy in the photo) and I went out the other night to prep a location for the blind. We located a tree with lots of low hanging branches. Cut a few high enough for the blind to sit under and used the trimmings to "brush" in the blind. Opened a couple windows and at 25-30 yards the black windows don't look that much different than the shadows under the hanging branches of the tree.

What is the diff between this blind and the Primos Vision? I saw Bass Pro had the Vision for $169 on sale. Are these new blinds the same low-sheen material that Double Bull was using on their blinds? Sorry to hi-jack but I am thinking of upgrading for next spring.

Skully:

I think the Vision has a different window system (larger window openings ??). As far as the material sheen, I have never really looked at the DB's since I never considered spending that much coin on a blind. Sorry I can't provide more comparisions.
