new treestand location

Today I lucked out and stumbled upon a new place to hunt, I had this spot in my sights for years and finally got permission, I put my stand up tonight and I am giddy with excitement!
My question is..... How long do I wait to hunt this spot? I was thinking a week. Any suggestions?

Depends on how much you disturbed the area when you hung the stand? If you worked quietly and relatively scent free, I would hunt the stand within a couple days. A good rain might help wash away your scent too.
 
I hung the stand that I shot my buck out of Sat. night on Sat. morning. If you think it'll be good get in there!!!
 
Great advise Saskguy! Went back out tonight to hunt and had a nice 10pt and a monster 12pt. 20 yards for 15 minutes eating leaves off of trees!!!!! Only problem..... Wrong side of the fence!!!!! Awesome show though! Must not have left too much scent behind when I set things up last night, They didn't seem to mind anyway!

I'm also with Saskguy. On October 25, 2000, at 11:00am I put up a stand and cleared shooting lanes. It was a windy day and I made an effort to keep scent to a minimum. I snuck in the next morning, October 26, and at 8:16am I shot the buck I was after, a 4 1/2 year old which netted 237 3/8". He had no clue I'd been there.
