I've always enjoyed these guys and their work. They seem honest and genuine. They've done quite a bit to educate bowhunters over the years.

Came across their new site a while back, sounds like it's still under construction though there's quite a bit of it complete.

Pretty cool, has the story about the old one Gene shot last year. Looks like they are going to have an incredible video out here soon.

Just read the tribute to Woody. Great deer and great story. One thing bothers me tho. Isn't it illegal to have an unlicensed person participate in a deer drive? Or can I recruit a bunch of guys to drive deer to me. Just wondering.

I was always under the impression that if you participated in a deer drive you must have a valid license for that season. This could get interesting.

To put a different spin on things, see: http://www.mitraditionalbow.com/iowa_heaven.shtml

Hmmm, leasing up Iowa farm land then charging people to hunt it.... Shades of the dreaded NR thread?

My local DNR officer said that there is no way an unlicensed person can help to drive or "nudge" deer toward another hunter. Only if they were hunting inside a fenced property would it be legal. Does anyone know if the Wensels have high-fenced their property? Don't know if I'll buy their books or videoes now.

That is the case...you need to be a licensed hunter for that season in order to participate in the act of the harvest ie drives, stands or whatnot. I would not jump to conclusions tho fellas...they may have been legit on the whole scenario in the harvest of woody. Being "high profile" hunters, I'd be willing to bet they know the rules and would hunt by the book. I could be wrong tho?????
