Well two weekends ago I was given an awesome gift from one of my good buddies (and also my brother-in-law). The horns belonged to their grandfather, my wife and B-I-L are not sure of the complete story but believe that they were found on a dead elk in CO a very long time ago by their grandpa. It is obvious that at one time someone tried to mount them to a skull plate as there are two screws right through the center of the pedicles. Obviosly the horns were a bit to heavy also as the screws are sheared off. Anyhow, the horns had been in their grandfathers basement for a long time and the basement was going to shambles due to water/mold etc. They salvaged all they could from the basement and the horns were given to me as a gift as the family thought that I would proudly display them as grandpa use to. I felt really blessed to have these passed along to me. I haven't decided how I will display them yet, for now they are resting in the man room with the rest of the horns. Once, I figure out how I am going to display them I will post more pics. For now here are the horns.
