I would say you are right on the age....has anyone else ever noticed that the older deer seem to have darker coats. I have seen that a lot on my place between say a 2.5 to a 4.5 year old buck when they are side by side.

About 5-6years now, its getting so deep that I gotta keep the weeds down in front of the cam because if a deer is down in it I can't see them very well. Its about 6 ft wide by 12 ft long and about 2 ft deep now.
