Nikon Monarch's

I noticed the other day my Nikon's looked like the protective coating on the eye lense was starting to flake off? I had thought they weren't as clear last fall and really notice it now. Also my eye relief's won't stay locked out very well. I contacted Nikon and sent them in. Anyone else having these problems?

No, but mine are less than a year old.

I had a great pair of sunglasses once that I used an amonia based cleaner (Windex)on and the lens coatings eventually got cloudy and peeled off. The company put new lenses in for about half the cost of new sun glasses. The company said the reason for the problem was the cleaner. They insisted that only stuff labled as safe for coated lenses or lens cleaner be used. So I started with that and haven't had any problems since.

I think when I got my monarchs they were a 25 year no questions asked and thell fix them. I just got mine a few months ago and havent had any trouble.

My pair must be close to 10 years old with no problems... I have heard that Nikon stands behind their stuff... so hopefully they will take good care of you.
