Fayette county authorities have filed numerous charges against two northeast Iowa men, for running a poaching ring.
17 year old Cody far of Hawkeye is being charged with 22 counts of shooting from a highway, 7 counts of taking deer with a rifle, abandonment of wildlife, taking deer out of season, 21 counts of manner of conveyance, and 11 other game and fish violations. He was also charged with liquidated damages in excess of over $10,700. His total fines could be as high as $26,700.
and 18 year old Brady Snyder of Wautoma was charged with seven counts of shooting from a highway, manor of conveyance, 2 counts of abandonment of wildlife, taking deer out of season, taking deer with a rifle, and 5 other game and fish violations. He was also charged with liquidated damages for loss of wildlife in excess of $5,100. Snyder’s fines could be as high as $5,100.
Both Snyder and far also will be charged with shooting road signs and other criminal mischief, and could face more charges. Several deer, rabbits and pheasants, along with a .22 high powered rifle were confiscated. The week long investigation was conducted by the Fayette county sheriff's department, Fayette county conservation, and Iowa department of natural resources.
