Nocturnal's not staying put..

SCOFFIN

Miles Coffin
Just put my new arrows together and when I set the cock feather and went to pull the arrow off the bow, my nocturnal's are pulling out of the arrow and are sticking on the string. What do I need to do to make sure they stay in the arrow when I shoot, Cuz right now it's not looking like they will.

Did you make sure you bought the specific ones for your arrows. Ive only put them in gts, and the gt nockturnals fit good in gts. But if not you could put some electric tape or a piece medical tape around the shank to tighten. Anything to snug it in. It won't affect the switch since it is string activated.

Yes, bought the Nocturnal S for my Carbon Express arrows. Bought the arrows at the same time. They push in tight, but definitely don't stay in well. Not sure there is room for tape..

I wouldn't be too concerned if they are correct for your arrows, mine have popped off if I pull by the arrow and haven't had any issues in two years. When I take mine off the string I put my fingers above and below my loop (like a traditional shooter)and use my thumb to pop it off. Ive probably shot 200 shots with them and never had one pop off at release

Had mine do the same thing, actually coated mine in bow wax on they lock nicely in place without being glued permanently.

String wax is the way to go, you can also put it on the treads of field
points and they stay tight.

Had the same problem, I put a small pc of electrical tape on them and it took care of it. Not very good quality control in their process of making the correct diameter though.

Use a piece of paper and cut into strips about 1/8-1/4 inch wide and use those. Be sure not to cover contact points.

Pretty sure they don't have contact points. They are string activated unlike lumenoks.

I read a thread recently where someone used a couple coats of clear fingernail polish on just the part of the nock that goes into the shaft. He said it worked great. And if you put too much on, just scrape or sand some off.
