noise

Getting a ton of noise from the silicone tubing on my peep. It slaps the strings pretty hard when fired. I can see marks on the tubing. Any recommendations?

Sorry for the hijack, but how do you guys keep the peeps from twisting to the side without tubing. I've tried G5 peeps on two different bows and cannot get the dang things to stay straight. Every shot the string twists ever so slightly and throws it off when you draw again. So I just use a peep that has tubing. Would love to get rid of it though. I feel like this is a no brainer fix, but somehow the lightbulb is not coming on in my head.

It took my string about ten shots to get everything set and haven't had a problem since. I'm not a bow guru I just know I never have a problem unless my d loop is loose and moves around the string

Sometimes it depends on how your tying it in, some people use different methods. When I get my peep where I want it I pull the bow back, depending on which way the peep twists, if any, I'll run the serving down the opposite side and that usually will straighten it. You can also add a half twist to the string itself. I'm sure other people have different methods as well.

If your getting "string stretch" or twist which is causing your peep to rotate constantly I would recommend putting a new quality string on your bow. Winners Choice and Vaportrail stings are a couple of good companies to order from who can make custom colors for your set up. There are many guys out there who make strings that are excellent quality and guarantee no twist after you install them. Check archerytalk or some guys on here may be able to point you in the right direction. I have tried and used a lot of different strings and purchased from individuals who make them to order. I currently have Vaportrails strings on my bow and after installed I shot my bow 10 times then installed the peep and it hasnt moved since last July. Hope this helps

This is a brand new PSE Surge. I've shot it 6 to 12 times a day - every day since Jan 1st. The string did turn some & I turned my loop as the string settled in. Now that the string has stopped turning & stopped stretching I can clearly hear the tubing hitting. It's bad enough that at 30 yards I can hear the tube slapping before I hear the arrow hit the target. The only thing I like about the tubing is it almost guarantees that I can see through the peep at full draw. Otherwise, I do not like the tubing.

Never had this issue w/ my old, slow bow. I should've bought a bare bow instead of the package. The only things still OEM are the string & quiver. I love this bow though.

I have looked at the peeps w/ the angled hole & are held by 2 strings. And I've seen the peeps held by three strings. I'm leaning towards the angled 2 string peep. Probably a new D-loop too.

Don't get the three string basket peep. If your stock string is decent it's sounds like you should be able to use a standard peep. As someone else said there are a lot of good string makers to be found on archery talk. I like JBK strings. 60x is another one that has a large following. If you don't have a press any GOOD shop should be able to help you out.

Go to a bow shop have them put in a standard peep. Shoot it there 10 or 15 times if it turns a little have them fix it and shoot 10 more times. Do this until it stays.

Stopped at Scheels today & picked up a Radical Peep Super Duece 38. Got home & put it in right away, no problem. Shot it 36 times & it has stayed put. The loud slap noise is gone. Now all I hear is the slight hum of the string after it has hit the stop. I'm happy.

Easy, literally turn it with my mouth every time... I could take it to the shop and spin the string. But that would take 5 minutes. :D
