I just put up a new ladder stand. Its the type with 3 6' chunks then the seat. Last night, in the wind, it made sooo much noise. It was unreal. So as I sat there trying to figure out what to do, I rememberd a post on here. It was about putting spray foam into the tubes. but I was wondering if that would even help. It was where the joices were coming together the way it looked, that were squeaking. So I thought maybe I should go weld it together, and take care of that. Any suggestions to quiet it down would be greatly appreciated. thanks

How about duct tape or electrical tape around the joints. In the Airforce we had F-4 tape. It was rubberized. That would work great too. Just a thought.

The spray foam helps, use a piece of aquarium tubing to extend the nozzle through the entire leg when spraying.I f the stand portion is tubular the foam will silence it,especially when its bitter cold. I am sold on ladders and have found that heating the joint with a heat gun and liberally applying paraffin wax aids in sliding or removing the joints as well as preventing squeaks in the joint area.Good luck.

I think the spray foam would smell terrible for awhile. You might want to do it in August and give it time to quit stinkin'. That stuff is pretty potent!!!!
