Alright, not trying to piss anyone off, I'm just curious. I'm new to this site(2 weeks) and I have noticed alot of people that aren't from Iowa. I want to know why this site? and If you hunt Iowa why? <-- I think I know the answer to this question! It might have something to do with him-->

I'll kick this one off. I am a native iowan that has moved across the river due to my job. This site has many people that share my addiction/passion, huge whitetails. There are a lot of dedicated hunters here that have a volume of good information on hunting these critters. I do hunt iowa when I get the chance and tag along with video equiptment as often as I can when I am not hunting. The area in Iowa is similar to the terrain I hunt in Illinois so a lot of the tactics that work there, work here as well. I also have met a lot of great people on the site and have gotten to know them thru posts, PM, and get togethers. Just nice to be around folks that love to hunt.

I too was born and raised in Iowa. Spent my first 25 years there. I have lifelong hunting budddies that I hunt with and I put in for a deer tag every year.It also is a time to see all my relatives.I always stay at least 2 weeks. Have access to good private land which is a plus too.Bet there are alot more folks with the same story.

I mostly come to Iowa websites because Iowan's are just like us S. Dakotan's... real down to earth guys (and gals) that are easy to get along with.

S. Dakota doesn't really have any websites like this, so here I am. I have met lots of friends through iowa websites and hope to met more.

The only ties I have to Iowa is this site. We don't have any sites like this here in Nebraska either. I've met some great people here and plan on being around for awhile. This site is like a breath of fresh air. Not the arguing and bickering and lies that go on with other sites. Thank you Iowawhitetail!

I generally hunt more then one state during bow season, Iowa not being one of them. However Iowa is known for having some great opportunities to harvest a mature world class whitetail buck. It's interesting to view the results and see the bucks which are taken each season. While I may only dream of hunting here someday it's still a lot fun to hear the stories and view some real pigs for deer being posted up.

the deer chat board here in arkansas isn't put together as well as this one. I like to look at and read about big deer, so what better place to read about them than Iowa

Well I'm like the rest we don't have a site like this in Virginia at all. I enjoy seeing and reading about big deer, this has been the best site by far. I would love to hunt Iowa someday but for right now I'm stuck in VA. This is an awesome site. Everyone has been friendly and everything is organized so what else could anyone ask for great people and great hunting equals a great time.

Here's something for you NR guys to think about. This coming June Iowawhitetail will have it's 3rd annual Rendevous 3D shoot. It's a great way to meet all the people you've been chatting with plus do a little shooting. I know it's a ways to go for a shoot but if you think about it as a mini vacation it's not that far. All the plans are not worked out yet but we want to make it a family type get together and everyone is welcome. Just for reference, Chicago is 4 hours from where the Rendevous will be. Heck, even the Wisconsin guys are welcome...

Moosehunter,,,,, I was seriously thinking about drivin down for that this last year... I have to do it next summer...

My ties to your great state are simple... I hunt deer and you have good ones... Thus I hunt it. I also have hunted Canada and Ill... ..... I like this site as well for all the respect between hunters that is given here... I am on other sites where anything anyone says is ripped on by some one for some reason. But not here..... That is why I am always here checking it out and reading posts and picking up as much info as possible... I've been hunting Iowa since 96 when a friend asked us to come down.... I doubt I will ever stop coming.. and if they ban non residents.... I'll move.......That is if my other half wants too ...... but shes easy to convince.

I like the guys who I talk with on here and would enjoy meeting them to put a face with their personality... There is a hecka of a lot of experience on this site and I am into listening to those that produce... Sure .. I score on some good deer and have my views on issues but as long as respect is a priority here,,, I'm not going to spoil it...

Ya got to understand.....I live in Iowa and work just across the river in Wisconsin. So there's much ribbing between the two states at work. It's gotten so bad with me it's almost totally consumed my life.

Heck, I used to like the Packers, now I can't stand them (except Farve). So even though I make a crack or two about Wisconsin, it's all in jest. Even if it's the one place in the world I would never move to!!!!

I've never hunted Iowa but would like to someday.

I'm from Michigan, and I can not believe the bucks you guys see and shoot out there. I'm lucky if I see 3 or 4 bucks a year up here. When I do see bucks, very few are older than 2. I'm looking forward to getting out there to hunt soon. I use this site to just dream a little. Enjoy the season guys.

This is one of the best sites on the web to talk deer hunting, hunting tactics, see trophy animals, deer knowledge, meet people with one common goal

and a good laugh now and again. Also the fact that I own land in Iowa is a big reason to visit this site for me.
The average deer killed in Michigan is 18 months old, most of the deer do not have the opportunity to become mature. Thier are some hunters here trying to change that but we have about 800,000 hunters that are satisfied with killing a 1 1/2 year old deer year after year. Some have become so fed up with it that we have struggled to purchase property in states that care about thier deer herd. The Michigan site is constant bickering and bellyaching about this or that, it wears on you real fast.

Just curious which state(besides Iowa)has the most members of this site?
