Anyone here familiar with Northcentral Missouri, specifically Putnam County or west of there. I am looking for info on public hunting areas in that part of the state. Rebel's Cove, Mineral Hills, Wayne Helton, Locust Creek and Union RIdge... others?

Are there any county-owned public hunting areas in that part of the state?

I m close to rebel's cove, depends on if u want to gun hunt or bowhunt in there it get the crap hunted out of it during gun season, but most people don't bowhunt round here, so if your bowhuntin i wood say go 4 it, its got some really good timber on it, but i haven't been over there if awhile.
 
I've made quite a few calls and checked a lot of stuff on the internet. I think I am going to stay in Unionville and hunt Mineral Hills and Rebel's Cove. SOunds like they get quite a bit of pressure but I am good at walking so I will just get out in the sticks where the big ones are. We'll see how it goes. I have about a week there before I go to Kansas.
