Not a Deer, But Still Cool!

I'm detailed down near Mobile, AL working on the oil spill response efforts for the next 2.5 weeks (and another 3 weeks in Sept/Oct). I went for a run last nite to take a break from the 14 hour days (21 in a row by the time I'm done) and saw one amazing sight. I went back tonite with my camera. If you ever want to feel small, helpless, and just plain in awe, take a look at an alligator that is 10-11 feet long. This picture doesn't really do it justice and there's no scale, but I'm abouit 6' 210 lbs and I pretty much felt like I could be made to fit inside this thing's belly and not in too many pieces. I had to zoom way out to get it all in the picture.

I felt the same way observing giant crocs in Costa Rica several years ago.

Also, I really appreciate the fact that you're pitching in with the oil spill. Keep up the good work! ... Oh, and gator is some good eatin'. haha
