Thanks for the help guys, the picture is posted now.
My sons proudest moment, his once in a life time buck, he shot this deer when he was 16 years old (1999). I was down the feild and watched the whole thing unfold when he shot it. We party hunt down by Burlington and were on stand on a feild edge, I was looking in another direction when I heard his first shot and looked to see what he was shooting at. This big boy came out following a group of does running straight at him. I won't lie, I was froze standing there watching my son shooting at the buck of a lifetime and praying when his second shot hit the buck and rocked him but he kept going, he shot twice more and the forth shot knocked his front legs out from under him but he got back up to take off again when he shot his last shell and the 5th shot put him down for good. Rob emptied his gun (5 rounds), of the 5 he hit the buck 3 times and finally dropped him. I'll never forget the look on his face when he walked up to him and turned to look at me. When the group gathered up to see what was going on they couldn't beleive the size of him and was patting him on the back and giving him high fives. We took the buck to Myers taxidermy in Goose Lake Iowa (Only the best for this Monster)and he rushed it through so we could take him to the Iowa Deer Classic in Des Moines to be scored.
This buck rough scored in the high 180's and by the time Boone and Crocket got done with him he missed being a B/C by 2". In my book there will never be another trophy that is worth as much as the memories are with this one and me getting to watch the whole thing. My son now lives in Illinois with his wife and son and daughter and doesn't get to hunt over here anymore with me but one day I hope he moves back so we can take his children out and teach them to enjoy the outdoors.
Until then I have 2 other grandsons (6 and 4)to work with and the oldest has already made it to the turkey woods with Grandpa and is hungry for more.
