I've been hunting IA for the last 8 years, with a 4 man group in zone 4. We hunt the first gun season and have drawn a license 7 out of 8 years and going again this year, so I have no room to complain.
My issue is for the people that were not drawn and who won't even check to see until 6/22. I'm guessing when they try and buy the left over tags, they'll be gone. I'm also hearing that some names aren't even listed on the DNR status site.
I love to hunt IA, but the DNR keeps you on your toes! I just feel bad for the guys that are going to feel like they were shafted. Not bad enough to give them my tag, but it's pretty screwy to release the status 10 days early.
