Oates

This year there are oates planted in some of the public that I hunt, but I've never before hunted over or near oates, harvested or not. Has anyone had any experience in this area? How does it compare to corn/beans/alfalfa?

You better hope the geese don't land in em or you will have to deal with goose hunters...

In all honesty they are great. I am guessing they were/are a cover crop for alfalfa and it should be a good field to hunt. But geese do love oats and if they start landing in them chances are it will get hunted (where did you say that field was...

). Have the oats been harvested yet? The deer should be hitting them pretty hard right now.
