Shed Head!!!
I have developed some good friends on this forum and wanted to share something that happened to my youngest son this weekend.
He is 10 years old and very active. Plays baseball, football, soccer, basketball..... This weekend he was in a soccer tournament and after his first game on Saturday morning we were eating breakfast and my wife noticed that the left side of his face looked funny. His cheek was drooping real bad. Further investigation found that he had lost all movement on the left side of his face!!!! When he smiled, the right side smiled but the left side did not move at all. We immediately called his Dr. who told us to go to the hospital. He was diagnosed with a condition called Bells palsy and has lost all movement on the left side of his face.
The Dr's put him on a steroid that will hopefully help bring back the movement. They told us that it could come back in a few days, or a couple of weeks and there is a chance that there may be some permanent damage, however, they stressed that it is not normal for a kid this young to have any permanent damage.
Has anyone ever had any experiece with this condition???
Keep us in your prayers...
