Ogbourne Buck

Moved from the PMA Conference:

Mike Ogbourne harvested this great buck in late October of 2002. His first shot missed the mark and struck the bucks droptine solidly.

Mike goes on to explain,"The buck finally circled down wind within range after the first hit in the drop tine with some coaxing from my grunt call. The main reason he did that was because another buck was standing close to my tree, acting as a decoy"

Mike's second shot hit it's mark and the buck piled up just out of sight.
The full story will be coming out in North American Whitetail in the July issue.

One Nice buck Mike. You have to be really proud of that one and it even has a great/interesting story to go along with it. Congrats

That is one hell of a buck . I guess we know were he was looking when he let the first arrow fly .....Joe

Dandy Buck!!!!!!! Not the best shot angle for a shot though.
That deer was close to running around with a arrow in it for a long time!!!!!!Got too work on patience as a bowhunter. But great buck anyway, Congrats.

Is that the one from the Classic? awesome buck.

Don't know the circumstances, but, if that buck was broadside, with his right side towards you, and had his head turned 90 degrees towards you, depending on the angle, that droptine could actually be very close to covering the vitals.

Like I said, I don't actually know what happened, just imagining and thinking out loud.

Sorry, just took another look at the photo... is that an arrow stuck in the chest? did not see that the first time I looked at the photo. Looks like he pulled a Stan Potts.
