Well it all started out when I went out to hang my stand to hunt my honeyhole of the East Wind. I went out and hung my stand and was just sitting down and I hear a crashing in the woods. It was a little spike buck that was milling around in the abandoned achorage that was behind me. He wandered by my stand and I was playin the what just hit me in the head game with him. He ran off and returned about an hour later and he dissappeared behind a building.
I waited a little while and started to do some rattling and grunting. After I had finished I heard a rustling of leaves and here was the biggest buck I had ever whitnessed while up in a treestand! He was cruising the woods that were across from me at 40 yards. He dissappeared into the woods as he was unresponsive to my soft grunting. He later appeared to the North cruising the fenceline heading back west so I started hitting "The Can" and he turned and was running to me. He got to about 40 yards away across the plowed field and stopped.
To my suprise the spike buck had bedded down this wole time and when the spike saw the monster coming he got scared and took off running into the woods. Unfortunately that big buck decided to give chase and that ended my night. Maybe I shoulda stuck that stupid spike in the first place!
