I know nothing about these things other than the fact i think i want digital.

Any good advice for someone looking to get some trail cams please share.

I'm looking to probably get 3 and start using them this winter.

Would like nice pics but that is secondary to knowing what's on the property, I have 80 acres of timber i'm hunting and think i can cover it with the 3.

What are the good make/models and what price range am i looking at?

A lot of people like the cuddebacks but they are $$$. I have three moultrie cams and the pictures are great. Trigger speed might be a little slow but if you set it up right you should still get good pics. Digital is the way to go! I have also heard good things about leaf river and recon. Cableas outfitter cam is about $150 and is made by moultrie.

I have a buddy who has one and is really happy. I did have a problem with my cam but I have to say that leaf river's customer service is excellent. Did you check out the reviews on chasing game? They have excellent info and really do not push any one product. Here is another site with excellent prices and free shipping. I've heard good reports about the company. You can get the top of the line Leaf River for $35 more. Just a suggestion. Any questions just holler, but your best bet is to use the info and the forum on chasing game. Side note: Cudde has had a ton of problems this year.

And IR is no flash.

Yep, we have 2 and they are great. So far this year since May, we have gotten over 15,000 pictures between the two. The batteries don't hold up too long in the cold (her in another 2 weeks might not be good for them at this rate). Overall, moultrie is the way to go.

I went to that site and that's how i decided i liked the leaf river stuff..

However i didn't see a general Q&A section and have not read the whole site sorry.

Hey Iowa Bow,
Shouldn't have yelled at ya with all caps. Had a couple of other issues I was dealing with and trying to give you a little advice to. But that is no excuse for being rude. Sorry man.

I think the Leaf River is the way to go. Don't forget you'll need compact flash cards. I use the 256MB cards.
