I found this pic today while mindlessly surfing. The old boy with the flintlock has the right idea.
Get someone else to carry your deer out.

The guy carrying it doesn't look any too happy lugging that big doe.

Looks like a coon, a fox, a badger AND a deer! Man that old boy was busy!

It amazes me how they did it in the days before Goretex, hand warmers and backpacks full of gizmos. Sometimes I feel a little "weighted down" and wish I knew what it was like to hunt back in my grandfathers day. Great photo Jay!
