I know deer season is still going on but I just had the thought of a spring turkey trip and if i'm going to make it happen I want to plan ahead. What state would you recommend for a turkey hunt in the spring? Nebraska? Kansas? Another?
I want to see if I can get a couple buddies to make a long weekend trip and shoot some gobblers. As a resident of Iowa, which state is the best for a non-resident to hunt as far as access to public land, number of birds, and getting away from crowds of people? I haven't decided if it will be a bow or gun hunt or whether we'd stay in a hotel or try to camp but what are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance for all of your suggestions!
