Paper tuning

Opinions. Who think's it's necessary to paper tune your bow? My bow was laser tuned but after shooting through paper I noticed I was getting a right tear. When I shoot at the target it seems to be fine. Any thoughts would be great.

Paper tuning is just a snap shot in time of what your arrow is doing at that distance. Nobody can paper tune "your" bow as it is as dependent on hand position as anything. I like to do it to start and get a fairly "good" tear-then walk back tune and finally broadhead tune.

After that-I don't shoot through paper again.

I paper tune mine from like 5 feet just to make sure the arrow is coming off the bow straight. I do this with bare shafts and fletched. Then I do walk back tune out to 50 yards, and then finally bare shaft tune out to 20 yards. Fixed broadheads haven't been an issue for me after doing these steps.

So I guess my answer would be that its a necessary process for me just for a starting point but it goes way beyond that.

I'm curious. How do you broadhead tune? I've never done this.
