Patience pays off

After a close call on opening day, a miss a couple days later, and then iffy weather this weekend, my son was able to drop the hammer on his first turkey. He put a few miles on his legs but always stayed positive. Dropped it at about 10 yards. 20 lbs, 9.5" beard, and basically no spurs (he didn't care though).

Almost a year later, I put together a set of wingbone calls for my son's Bday using his 1st turkey's wings (one for him and one for me.) He chose the color and we both ended up liking the combo.

Made my first pair by following the steps in an article from a hunting magazine. A few years later I started making a few more getting more detail finishes and wraps. Lots of trial and error.
