It’s mid-November and the peak breeding season is upon us. Based on personal and other experienced observations the breeding season seems a few days ahead of schedule. If you still have a tag to fill don’t worry as the opportunity to shoot a mature buck is still very much a reality.
During the peak breeding bucks courting does tend to migrate to out of the way places in search of solitude. You may want to add hunting fence lines and small pockets of cover to your mid-November arsenal.
Also because the breeding season seems advanced look for mature bucks to start roaming a little earlier this year in search of the final receptive does. Also feel fortunate to still have a tag in hand and hunts to look forward to as some tremendous deer will be taken these last few weeks of November
Make sure to check out the harvest forum and the PMA Harvest forum as they are filling up with some great bucks!
Special congratulations to two more of Iowawhitetail's staff for harvesting a pair of great trophy’s – congrats guys!
