Just curious....why isn't there an area in the photo gallery dedicated to doe kills? I realize a nice buck is a trophy but I'm sure there are a lot of hunters out there with nice shots of doe kills that didn't get a tag or a shot at a nice buck. How bout it admins???

Even though I hate to agree with a Hawkeye (since I've lived in Ames for 21 years) I think it would be a good thing to promote harvesting does. Maybe even have a "Largest Doe Contest."

I was just actually thinking about this today - maybe a contest for the most does taken? Biggest would be nice too but may be hard to manage (certify weights)

What does everyone else think about opening a seperate photogallery for does?

I think with all the emphasis on taking does this year. I think it would be a great idea and could get fun!

I think it would be a blast. However do you get to enter once or more than that some counties get more doe only tags than others

Glad to see this is being warmly received. Last year when I made my annual stop at the locker the biggest deer they had was a doe. I just think there's too much emphasis on taking bucks sometimes. They all taste the same and it's important that we as hunters pay attention to the doe population to ensure great hunting for the future.

Most number of does taken would be a blast for a contest, lots of actual 3d practice and good vittles to eat, I'm Game.
 
wow a doe scoring system. if you all think about this. this could be huge for deer management. now you hear about a lot of people taking a buck just to say they took a buck. most of the time it is a small one or youg one. i even hear people who shoot button bucks saying "yup i got a buck this year"
but now that there is a way of bragging about your doe in other ways other than wieght.
now you may start to hear guys say "yup got me a 115" doe, how big was yours?"

Wow....just checked the poll and 87% so far favor a doe photo gallery on this site. This is great! Game management is going to be the key to keeping the Hawkeye state #1 in whitetail hunting and this is just another great way to promote it. Nice job guys!
