Picking a new mineral site

So I plan on starting a few new mineral sites and curious what rules of thumb most look for? I only run cameras on them July til September and am looking to inventory bucks mostly. Have had good luck in open areas in thick cedars and have also set many up in grassy areas along edges, inside corners. Looking for easy and quick access without tromping deep into bedding. Do you like close to water? Down in a draw? Or up on a ridge? I know spots you would hang stands are good but I want to keep some distance from current and potential stand sites.

I focus on areas with high deer traffic that are easy to access and not intrusive to keep fresh...meaning on the fringes of the property unless a good road or trail makes the center of the property easily accessible with a vehicle

My favorite..... 10-15' off heavy trail in a location in cover or surrounded by cover/screening, but where I can drive a 4 wheeler so as to not leave scent all over with a good camera tree allowing it to face north in a low impact area.
