Pin size

Hey guys. Just wondering what everyone thinks on pin size on their bow sights. I know some like the .019 or .010, but is that just for longer distances, or do you like them for shorter distances as well? Also, do you think these are needed for a deer hunting situation, or would it be most beneficial in target shooting/competitions?

I put a .019 housing on my sight when fall rolls around. For all my summer 3d shooting I'm running a .010 pin, its easier to focus on a smaller spot with a small pin and it doesn't cover up as much of the target at longer range.
Imho its easier to pick a spot with a little larger pin in a hunting situation plus the larger fiber gathers more light for those late evening/early morning shots.
Its all up to each person as to what they like and feel the most comfortable with.
I know of a lot of people still hunting with 3 .029 pins and shoot very well.

I just shot a new sight I got for the first time the other day and I really like it. Its one of those Truglo Micro-Brite sights. It has 3 different size pins. Larger ones first then they get smaller for the longer distnace shots.

I've seen those, and was wondering about them or something similar. The only thing I wasn't sure of was whether I'd be able to see the .010 pins well enough. I liked the difference in size as you go to longer distances tho, but wondered if going down to the .019 would be good enough. I'm currently using a cheap .029 4 pin sight, but fiber optic broke on one last fall, so going to upgrade.
