The Iowa DNR will hold public meetings over the Interactive Conference Network to gather feedback on proposed changes for this fall's hunting and trapping seasons.

One proposal is suggesting allowing unlimited doe tags to all hunters during the early muzzleloader seasons, regardless of other gun season selections. This proposal has many hunters concerned that the quality and safety of their early muzzleloader season hunt will be jeopardized by creating party hunting groups during this otherwise peaceful time in the woods.
“I gave up shotgun seasons to hunt the early muzzleloader season to get away from the crowds of hunters and enjoy a quality natural hunt”, stated one concerned hunter.
“The early muzzleloader season is a great limited opportunity because of the current restrictions in place. Making these changes will surely ruin a great thing”, another concerned hunter.
If you would like to insure the season remains high quality – make a stand and join us at one of the meeting locations and voice your opinion.
The meetings will be held the afternoon of April 18th from 6:30 to 9pm at 18 sites across the state:
