Planter Wanted- JD 7000 or Kinze 4R, SE IA

Hey y'all. I'll post this in the classified section soon BUT had some questions....
1) Is it hard to transport these things long distances? I've pulled a planter behind a vehicle and pulled maybe a mile or two on many many occasions. Do I have to have a big trailer OR could I pull a bugger 100 miles?
*My farm is by Fairfield in SE Iowa.
2) I know 4 rows are worthless to farmers now BUT us folks are scooping them up (I hear of them going in the $ hundreds for sale BUT I pry will end up paying more). Good deal on 4 row with no till coulters, 30" rows preferably, good shape/working order, preferably with liquid-n & stuff for both beans and corn. What's a good deal? KNOW OF ANY BIG AUCTIONS?

If any of you hear of anything OR have any suggestions, I'd really like to get myself a JD 7000 or a Kinze, 4 row, no-till coulters are a must, preferably 30" & preferably liquid-n (not required) and in great working order- ready to plant, well taken care of. thanks!

I saw a flier just the other day at Moore's Grocery in Douds, Iowa, that listed three or four upcoming consignment auctions, at least two of which were machinery related. I don't remember the auction house running them, but it sounded like there would be some size to these auctions.

Maybe give them a call at Moore's and get the name/number off of the flier.

We picked one up out of the Truck N Tractor magazine that is distributed in SE Iowa. We bought it three years ago and paid $1500 for it. JD 7000 in great shape. Should last forever for us.

As said, if tires and bearings are good, you can highway pull them. BUT, be sure the drive chains on the wheels are also unhooked so you don't spin the clutch shaft at high speed.

THANK YOU! I will look into all that and the pulling advice is appreciated as well!
