Just got word this past week that this buck that our group called Stickers has most likely been violated. Always sad and angering to hear of a buck like this getting shot down illegally. Some of the guys I hunt with passed this buck last year when it was a 18 point 3 1/2 year old and now it was a 24 point 4 1/2 year old beast. Woulda been nice to see someone legitimately shoot it. :(

Man that sucks. I hope whoever poached its gets punished to the fullest extent of the law, people like that should never be allowed to hunt again!!
 
DNR catch someone or just "heard" it happened? That would suck if he was shot illegally but would be awesome if some lucky hunter harvested him by the book.
 
Great! :way: another post of someone saying someone shot something that said someone shouldnt have shot because someone wanted someone else to shoot it.

Haha. that is a tongue twister. Hopefully it was taken legally. Some big ones get taken but don't tell too many people because they dont want the word going around about a big one like that. This buck has sons running around.

Just heard from a couple different sources that it was shot, so hopeing and crossing my fingers that he didnt get violated. A buck like that deserves to be taken legally and respected. Will definitely be listening in on locals when im down there next and see if I can listen in to someone bragging it up.
 
That buck could make the hunter some money with endorsements, cover of a mag, etc. I pray that he is still alive and well and not taking by someone who just wanted the rack no matter the costs or ethics.

To many rumours are started this way.

Poor guy if he did shoot it by the book getting harassed that he did
it unethically.
 
Wouldnt a deer being violated be a crime, even if he didnt die? Just sayin....

Really?!? You have no idea if the deer was legally taken or not, but you have the audacity to put the picture of the deer up with the title POACHED. Wow, rumors and people who spread them like this make me sick.....have you ever been on the other side of this??

I too think you should have a few more facts before making a bold statement like POACHED. I don't think this website wants to have a reputation for starting rumors.

Aside from that, it's a bummer that sucker got killed by somebody else. I hope it was legal.
